Project Overview
The following project description is adapted from the grant proposal document submitted to support this project and is a directional guideline for content and presentation:
The Visitor’s Guide to Mountain Biking in Vermont will be a destination-focused resource to encourage multi-day tourism for people interested in mountain biking and inspire them to visit Vermont
Primary audience: Out-of-state recreationalists who may have experienced Vermont before (such as on a ski, hiking or fishing trip) and want to participate in mountain-biking as part of a return visit.
Secondary audience: First-time visitors looking for special features, such as learn-to-ride programs, adaptive-friendly mountain bike trails, family-centered recreation, and events that welcome under-represented populations to participate in the sport of mountain biking.
Tertiary audience: The more knowledgeable mountain bike tourist looking to explore more of the trails and surrounding amenities Vermont has to offer.
The Visitor’s Guide to Mountain Biking in Vermont will contain suggested itineraries and resources for 12-16 riding destinations throughout Vermont. Presented in the popular style of a 36, 48 or 72-hour travel experience, each featured destination will include recommendations for key stops, restaurants and accommodations in addition to area mountain biking trails, resorts, and bike shops. The guide will offer local insight and credibility that travelers seek when planning their trips.
